What is Personal Style Anyway?

Have you ever seen those people who wear the same thing every day and swung between feeling sorry for them and envying them in the same breath? Imagine the pressure of having to dress the same way all the time so that you don’t shock people if you suddenly decide to experiment.

I’ve been thinking about this recently because a lot of people have been talking about it . There’s too much pressure on people to look a certain way all the time, especially in the blogging industry. It’s almost as if people get confused and don’t know how to label you if you don’t have a distinct and very pronounced ‘personal style’. I personally think that this restriction/expectation can take the fun out of fashion. Clothes should be worn according to your mood and should be about expressing yourself. If you have to conform to a certain ‘style’ all the time , I’m not sure how that creative expression can be achieved

Obviously , there are some people who find comfort in dressing similarly all the time and having a signature style and scent or whatever and that’s great. I’m not talking about those people, I’m just trying to say that if you’re one of the other kind of people who really wants to experiment with clothes and style and just enjoy fashion, then go for it. Don’t let what people think hold you back. I mean it can’t get more personal than wearing whatever makes you happy, right?

I for one definitely go through phases with my style and I am enjoying it. For a while, I tried to conform to this idea of ‘personal style’ but I’ve decided that it’s not very me and I would rather just wear what I want to when I want to. Hopefully , somebody sees this post and decides to wear that daring outfit they’ve put off wearing for so long or even just wear all black instead of sticking to light colours. DO something different, enjoy your clothes and to hell with personal style.

Until next time,

It’s your neighbourhood rebel,

Ciao  xx
