I have had a particularly boring week fashion wise. Don’t you just get those weeks where you don’t feel like dressing up at all and want to wear pyjamas all day. That might not go over too well at work, right?
Luckily, I work at a place where the dressing is not very formal so I can get away with wearing jeans most days (even though I don’t) , which to me is daytime appropriate pyjamas. I know, I know… it’s some people’s holy grail in their wardrobes but to me, jeans have always been that item of clothing that I wear when I have literally nothing else to wear. I have tried for ages to find the perfect pair but nothing ever seemed quite right, either it didn’t fit right or it felt like I was trying to dress like somebody else (because the cool girls on Instagram always wear jeans and a tshirt).
It got to the point that whenever I wore jeans at home, My Aunt would ask if everything was okay with me because it was so strange to see me in denim. You would know how I feel about jeans if you read my Why do I panic when I hear jeans and a nice top? post. Therefore, I pretty much gave up on jeans and begun to invest in varied trousers instead for the times I got tired of wearing dresses and skirts. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I literally found my perfect pair of jeans (How many times can a person says jeans in one post?). I was in love ……..
They were honestly the most incredible thing I had seen while shopping on ASOS. I came across this pair of lightwash, boyfriend jeans with lace trimming at the hems. It is perfect for me because it’s not boring like most pairs of jeans but it’s still simple enough that you can wear it frequently. The lace detail makes it a bit more feminine, which is something that I personally like to incorporate into my outfits and the fact that they are boyfriend jeans mean that they are high waisted and actually give me a figure.
I have been shouting from the rooftops about this pair of jeans and I just thought that it would be criminal of me not to share so that my fellow girlies who prefer their denim to be a bit more interesting can give it a go. It’s also for those girls who might have given up on denim as well, to see that it might be time to give it a second chance, just like I have. You never know, you might be pleasantly surprised.
So yeah, just like everything has seasons, some fashion choices that you absolutely detested in the past might come back in a new variation that’s perfect for you. It’s always good to keep an open mind when it comes to clothing because if you can’t have fun with fashion, when can you?
