My Favourite Coat of Winter 2017

My Favourite Coat of Winter 2017

Hello everyone, first of all, I should say that I’m not a coat fiend. The last time I bought a coat was a couple of years ago from Zara. It was this beautiful navy coat and it cost me £80. At the time, it really hurt me to hand my card over but I can honestly say that I got more than my fair share of wear out of it and it’s still going strong now.

However, this year I decided that it was time to take the plunge again and invest in another coat or two. A few weeks ago, I was in the Highcross shopping centre and I walked into an Urban Outfitters store, just browsing. Suddenly, I spotted this beautiful, camel, soft looking maxi coat and I was immediately drawn to it. I tried it on and I absolutely loved it. Alas, it had neither belt nor buttons and it was a whopping £119. I still really wanted it but I knew it was not going to be a sensible purchase at all (not that I always make sensible purchases cos I definitely don’t). Anyway, I left the store without that coat but I thought about it day and night for the next week.

Then came Black Friday, the epitome of Capitalism at its finest. I stalked a few sites, including of course Urban Outfitters.

During this stalking episode, I found another coat that was similar to the one I wanted and it was even better because it had both buttons and a belt. I was well chuffed to see that it was also in the sale so I snapped it up ASAP, even though it was only available in a size bigger than I’d normally get and it is one of the BEST things I’ve bought this year. It is the softest thing you have ever felt, the colour goes with everything and most importantly, it is very warm. If you are yet to find your winter coat, I would highly recommend checking out the Urban Outfitters website, especially the light before dark brand because they make the warmest, most beautiful coats and jackets. They are a bit pricey but I think they are worth it. IMG_6703-1IMG_6602-1

I am 5″5 and as you can see here, the coat almost comes up to my ankles so I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re much shorter than I am because it would probably drown your figure. If you’re taller, then this would look even more amazing on you. Even if you don’t want a maxi coat, check the brand out because they also do biker style jackets in the same, snuggly material. Another plus that I realised is these coats which give you that teddy bear look is on trend and absolutely everywhere. This means that if Urban Outfitters is totally out of your price range, you can find cheaper alternatives on sites like Asos, Missguided and so on. Just search ‘teddy bear coat’ and enjoy……IMG_6689

Until next time, Ciao x
